Show #102,
Big Lick Blues Festival Preview!

This is show #102, The Big Lick Blues Festival Preview Show!

Welcome back, my friends! This is your bluesman Brutha Dave (Dave Harrison) here once again in the beautiful
Star City of Virginia … Well, this show is gonna be another great one! This show will highlight the musicians that
are playing at the Saturday October 2, 2010
SunTrust Big Lick Blues Festival in beautiful downtown Roanoke VA
in
Elmwood Park!

Gates open and 2:00 pm and the winner of the Blue Ridge Blues Society blues competition,
Clarence “The Bluesman” Turner will starts things off from 2:15 until 3:15. Clarence and his band will be
representing the Blue Ridge Blues Society at the 2011 International Blues Competition in Memphis Tennessee!

We started off the show with the festival headliner Jimmie Vaughan playing “Extra Jimmies” off of his
The Essential Jimmie Vaughan CD.

So who else are we gonna hear from on today’s Big Lick Blues Festival Preview?

How about the incredibly talented female singer
Teresa James & The Rhythm Tramps! We’ll hear “You Know
You Love It” and “Hug Yourself”. You’ll see why she was nominated by the Blues Foundation to be the
“Contemporary Female Blues Artist of the Year” in 2008.

Next up, get ready to “Cook with the Hook”! It’s John Lee Hooker Jr. cranking out three great blues numbers,
“Dear John”, “Blues Ain’t Nothin’ But A Pimp”, and “One Bourbon, One Scotch, and One Beer”… He makes it
obvious why he is a two-time Grammy nominee!

Jimmie Vaughan will be bringing his Tilt-A-Whirl Band with him, but he’s also bringing his very special guest
Lou Ann Barton
! She has been deep in the Austin Texas blues scene and played with Jimmy and Stevie Ray
lots and lots of times! Let’s hear her “Let’s Have A Party” off of her Antone’s Records CD, Read My Lips.

How about some more Jimmie and Lou Ann with a tune called “Power of Love”? Great song followed by
Jimmie joined by his little brother Stevie Ray with their tune “Good Texan”. Then we’ll end up the show with
his tunes “Dirty Girl” and “Just A Little Bit”.

If you attend the festival, please swing by the BluzNdaBlood tent and say, “Hello!” We’ll have lots of drawings
for CDs and gift cards!

Well, you know the routine! Now that you’ve heard this great music, go out and by the music! Or go out and see
them live! Then buy their music and tell them you heard their music on The BluzNdaBlood Show! Your first stop
for the best of the blues!
