This is show #108, Blues For A Cure!

Hey, everybody! Welcome back! This is your Brutha Dave (Dave Harrison) once again bringing the
best of the blues to you from the
Star City of Virginia ….

We started off the show with The Sean Carney Band playing “Kidney Stew Blues” off of the great
CD called
Sean Carney’s Blues for a Cure and folks we’re lucky enough to have the winner of the
2007 International Blues Competition “Albert King” Award Winner Sean Carney to join us on
today’s show to handle some questions about his “
Blues for a Cure” upcoming event!

Now this particular show will concentrate on the upcoming 4th Annual “Blues for a Cure” showcase
starring the the winner of the 2010 Blues Music Award for the “Traditional Male Artist of the Year”
Duke Robillard. This great event will take place Saturday, December 11th at the
Lincoln Theatre in
Columbus, Ohio. Sean has an incredible international lineup and the show begins at 4:00 pm!
General admission tickets are $50 and VIP tickets (loge seating) are $75. All tickets include a
super dinner provided by
Shane’s Rib Shack!

Donations can also be made by buying merchandise like shirts and CDs! Let’s listen to our first
set of music from the initial
Blues for a Cure CD! Here’s “Love My Baby” by Trampled Under Foot;
“Detroit Is My Home”, by Alberta Adams; and wrapping up the set with “Been Chasin’ My Baby”
by Steve Gerard & The National Debonaires!

Some of this year’s sponsors are:
Jontaar Creative Studios, Jazz Academy, Jazz Art Group,
Tony’s Treasures, Mediu, Shane’s Rib Shack, and Honeybee Entertainment.

Another super CD can be purchased by those blues lovers wanting to make a worthwhile
donation and get same great music at the same time! There’s now another CD called

Blues Cures Studio Jam which features Henry Gray and a number of IBC Albert King
winners and the 2008 IBC winners Trampled Under Foot! Let’s listen to our second set!
Here’s “Cold Chills” with Henry Gray, Sean Carney, Jonn Richardson and Bill Stuve;
“Crosscut Saw” with Sean Carney, Trampled Under Foot, and Jonn Richardson; and
“Wait On Time” with Sean Carney, Gene Walker, Trampled Under Foot, and Bill Stuve.
Enjoy!

Sean, let’s talk about another great CD you have available for everyone to purchase!
It’s
Blues Cures Studio Jam, Volume 2! More non-stop blues that with some super tunes
on it! Let’s give everyone a little taste of it! Here’s our third set of the show with three super
tunes! Let’s listen in on: “The Hustle Is On” with JP Soars, Trampled Under Foot, Rick Nye,
and Gene Walker; “Jump On Board” with Henry Gray and Rick Nye; and wrapping up the set
with “Voodoo Woman” by Trampled Under Foot, Jimmy Thackery, and JP Soars!

Now Sean also has some Christmas CDs that can be purchased! I’m going to have
some of this great music on the next show but here are the albums that you can go
ahead and purchase the first CD is Blues For A Cure Christmas and proceeds go to
Sean’s charities.

The second CD is one that Sean talks about in my interview is below and the proceeds
to Christmas To Cure Cancer 5 go to
http://www.achristmastocurecancer.org

During the interview, Sean also mentioned the CD Louisiana Swamp Bop and he couldn’t
recall the charity that the proceeds went to for the sale of this CD. I promised I would
research it and include the info here on my web site! Well, here’s the info:

Purchase the Louisiana Swamp Stomp CD at the Northern Louisiana Brain and Spinal
Cord Injury Foundation site at
www.brainhelp.org
. Proceeds from this blues CD help the
charity support brain and spinal cord injury research and education.”
