Hello there! Here's another BluzNdaBlood Show! This is your Brutha Dave coming at ya once again from the blues filled studio in the Star City of Virginia!

As most of you know, the voting for this year's Blues Foundation Blues Music Awards (BMAs) is going on right now and is scheduled to close on March 1st! This show is going to highlight BMA nominees that happen to appear on lots of different labels! Sometimes it's hard to judge the nominees if you don't have the CD and this show is just to provide a VERY small sample of these great nominees! I feel like I'm on a game show saying, "I'll take Hodgepodge for $400, Alex!"  :-)

Well, we started off the show with "She's Boogy'n" from Doug MacLeod! That's off off his Black & Tan CD called DUBB! He's nominated for Acoustic Artist of the Year!

So who else are we gonna hear from on my “BMA Ballot Blues” show? Well how about nominees Kenny Neal (Nominated for B.B. King Entertainer of the Year, Contemporary Blues Male Artist of the Year), Zora Young (Koko Taylor Award - Traditional Blues Female Artist of the Year) with Bob Stroger (Instrumentalist of the Year Bass), and Kenny Smith (Instrumentalist of the Year Drums), Big James Montgomery (Instrumentalist of the Year Horn) from Big James & the Chicago Playboys, Rich DelGrosso (Instrumentalist of the Year, Other), The Kilborn Alley Blues Band (Band of the Year), Magic Slim & the Teardrops (Band of the Year, and Traditional Blues Male Artist of the Year), Duke Robillard (Instrumentalist of the Year Guitar, and Traditional Blues Album of the Year), Karen Lovely (Best Contemporary Blues Album of the Year, Best Contemporary Female Artist of the Year, Song of the Year), Nick Moss (Band of the Year, Contemporary Blues Male Artist of the Year, Rock Blues Album of the Year) with Gerry Hundt (Instrumentalist of the Year, Other), Super Chikan (B.B. King Entertainer of the Year, and Traditional Blues Male Artist of the Year), and wrapping up with Buddy Guy (Album of the Year, B.B. King Entertainer of the Year, Contemporary Blues Album of the Year, Contemporary Blues Male Artist of the Year, and Song of the Year!)

Let's start off with Kenny Neal playing "Voodoo Mama" off his CD called Hooked On Your Love! Kenny is nominated for B.B. King Entertainer of the Year and Contemporary Blues Male Artist of the Year. Following Kenny, we'll hear Zora Young singing "Til The Fat Lady Sings" from the Delmark CD "It Ain't Over!" Zora is nominated for the Koko Taylor Award - Traditional Blues Female Artist of the Year! Also listen for Bob Stroger (Instrumentalist of the Year Bass), and Kenny Smith (Instrumentalist of the Year Drums!)

So…. Are you ready for a hodgepodge of “BMA Ballot Blues”?
Well, I hope so! Crank it up my friends, we’re off and running!

Next up is Big James Montgomery (Instrumentalist of the Year Horn) from Big James & the Chicago Playboys playing their tune "A Little Attention"! Following Big James is Rich DelGrosso (nominated Instrumentalist of the Year, Other) playing "Mandolin Man" off of a brand new CD called Time Slips On By that he worked on with Jonn Del Toro Richardson.

Next we'll be treated to The Kilborn Alley Blues Band
(nominated for Band of the Year), playing "Nothin' Left To Stimulate", followed by Magic Slim & the Teardrops (nominated for Band of the Year, and Traditional Blues Male Artist of the Year) with their tune "Do You Mean It".

Our next nominee is guitarist Duke Robillard (Instrumentalist of the Year Guitar, and Traditional Blues Album of the Year), with the great instrumental "Bradford Boogie" followed by the lovely Karen Lovely (Best Contemporary Blues Album of the Year, Best Contemporary Female Artist of the Year, Song of the Year), with the song her CD is titled after, "Still The Rain".

Nick Moss (Band of the Year, Contemporary Blues Male Artist of the Year, Rock Blues Album of the Year) is up next with a tune off his CD called Privileged. Also playing with Nick is Gerry Hundt (Instrumentalist of the Year, Other)! After Nick is Super Chikan (B.B. King Entertainer of the Year, and Traditional Blues Male Artist of the Year) with "Ain't Nobody" off his Bluestown CD!

We wrap up the show with Buddy Guy (Album of the Year, B.B. King Entertainer of the Year, Contemporary Blues Album of the Year, Contemporary Blues Male Artist of the Year, and Song of the Year) with the song "Living Proof" off his CD with the same name!
