Well, hello there! It's time once again for another BluzNdaBlood Show! This is your  Brutha Dave Harrison coming at ya once again from the Star City of Virginia!

This show is gonna be another great one!  This show is going to be a reflection back to the incredible time I had this year during my 3 day trip to Memphis for the Blues Music Awards! Great time with great blues loving people!

Well, we started off the show with "Older Fool" from Karen Lovely, a multiple BMA award nominee! I felt really sorry for Karen! She finally went on stage to perform at the BMA's to a thinned out crowd at 1:30 am, but Karen put on one helluva show!

So who else are we gonna hear from on my "Missing Memphis" show other than Karen Lovely? How about those awesome musicians jamming at Wild Bill's on Wednesday? That'll be Cee Cee James, Greg Nagy, and Kevin Selfe & The Tornadoes! We'll also hear from Brad Vickers and His Vestapolitans, Bryan Lee, Bob Corritore, Peter Parcek, Robin Rogers, and Buddy Guy! We'll end up the show with some folks I met and chatted with and/or saw perform the day after the BMA's and that would be Buddy Flett, Dennis Jones, and Brandon Santini!

So…. Are you ready ready to hear some of my "Missing Memphis" blues?

Well, I hope so! Crank it up my friends, we’re off and running!

Okay, picture yourself in a true blue juke joint... Cramped for space, hot, holiday lights strung around the walls, room for possibly 50 people. Bring your own booze or buy 40 ounce beers for $5... Add the Memphis Soul Survivors and you've got Wild Bills! Once arriving, I got to hear a great set from the Soul Survivors, then Cee Cee James belted out the blues! I met Greg Nagy who approached me by saying, "You look familiar! Are you on Facebook?" He then rocked the house after Cee Cee finished! I met Kevin Selfe, Jimi Bott, and Kate Moss heading to Wild Bills after I had already called it quits and was back at the hotel! We'll hear samples from each of these folks including a sneak preview from Greg that'll be released on VizzTone Records in June! His tune gets some help from Bob Seger's Motor City horns!

The actual night of the Blues Music Awards was a very special one! I got to meet a lot of new friends like Brad Vickers! I just got a copy of his newest CD and start off our second full set with him! I was got presented with a copy from my friend and BluzNdaBlood listener Marie with the latest copy from Bryan Lee! So you'll hear "Braille Blues Daddy" after a great intro from Marie! We end the set with the late great Pinetop (or is that PineBottom? :-) singing Big Fat Mama from the BMA winning Delta Groove Music CD, Bob Corritore and Friends!

Our next set is a very special one! We started off with Peter Parcek who played "Kokome Me Baby"! After that we're treated to the late Robin Rogers singing "The Plan"... I was so glad to see that Robin won the award for Contemporary Female Blues Artist of the Year and  we were treated to "The Plan" at the BMA's performed by Janiva Magness and Tony Rogers! I'm really please that Tony also included a message of thanks following her song! We ended up the set with Buddy Guy, who cleaned up with 5 BMA's!  Anyone who's listened to Living Proof knows that it's well deserved! We're hearing "74 Years Young" because he also played it the night of the BMA's!

Our fourth full set is music that relates to the day after the BMA's! Thanks to running into my friend Stacy, I got a chance to chat with Buddy Flett, who was in town to support Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Buddy helped Kenny out on his BMA winning "Rock Blues Album of the Year". On todays show we're playing Buddy on his recent Louisiana Swamp Stomp CD. It's got a variety of artists and the proceeds benefit the Northern Louisiana Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Foundation. Blind Raccoon had a great show in the beautiful New Daisy Theatre on Beale Street and among the artists playing was Dennis Jones! I've never had a chance to see DJ play so this was a real treat, but after a short set he turned the stage over to Guitar Shorty! After this function was over, I headed over down Beale and when I heard that Brandon Santini was playing at one of the bars, I was there for the remainder of the night! He's got a brand new CD out that's well worth your hard earned dollar! Hell, it's worth buying another for a friend! Great job, Brandon!
