Show #125, Summertime Blues, Part 2!

*Welcome back, everybody! Man, it's that time of year when the temps are up and the humidity here in my neck of the woods is out of sight! As the old song goes, "There ain't no cure for the summertime blues!" Well, I had lots of extra songs from the last show, so I think I may have just found another cure by having a Part 2 Show! It's time once again for another BluzNdaBlood Show! This is your brutha Dave Harrison coming at ya once again from the blues filled studio in the Star City of Virginia!*

Well, we started off the show with Alex Schultz playing "Lexington Express" off his Severn Records CD called Think About It! Now that's a super song!



So who else are we gonna hear from on this "Summertime Blues, Part 2" show? How about The Mighty Mojo Prophets, Davina and the Vagabonds, RB Stone, Hip Shakin' Mama & The Leg Men, Albert Castiglia, Long Tall Deb and The Drifter Kings, Owen Poteat, Greg Nagy, Hope Waits, Eddie C. Campbell, The Delta Playboys, and wrapping up with a great song by Ivan Appelrouth! So…. Are you ready to hear what'll cure your "Summertime Blues"? Well, I hope so! Crank it up my friends, we’re off and running!

Well, we started off the first full set with The Mighty Mojo Prophets. Following The Prophets is Davina and the Vagabonds and ending the set is RB Stone!


Now in our second full set, Shelley-Lynne or better known as Hip Shakin' Mama & the Leg Men! Following Shelley-Lynne was the Albert Castiglia with that great long blues number, "Closing Time!" And closing out this second set is a tune from Long Tall Deb & the Drifter Kings!

Our next set is making my summertime blues disappear quickly! It's a song by The One Man Boogie Band, Owen Poteat, who actually won the Blue Ridge Blues Society's blues competition this year! Congrats, Owen! I'll be there in Memphis and cheering you on! Following Owen is Greg Nagy off his newest Vizztone CD! Hope Waits rounds this set out with a great song called "Mother In Law Blues".

Our last set of music is a great way to wrap our show! We start off with the great Eddie C. Campbell! I picked this song because Mojo Mark is playing the harp on it! I met Mark out in California. We both stayed over at Randy's place and chatted all night about the music business! Following Eddie, are The Delta Playboys! They don't have a CD out yet, but I got this from a sample CD they gave me to compete in the blues competition. They've got a great sound! We end up the show with a great sample of music on Ivan Appelrouth's CD Blue and Instrumental!
