Well, hello there! Welcome back, everybody

This is your blues DJ Dave Harrison coming at ya once again from the blues filled studio in the Star City of Virginia!

It's time for another BluzNdaBlood Show! It's that time of year when I attend the Heritage Music BluesFest in Wheeling, WV! The festival is put on by Bruce Wheeler and his family and this show is just me reflecting on some of the great music that I heard there! It's "Bruce's Blues!"

Well, we started off the show with the beautiful Candye Kane singing her super tune "Ik Hou Van Je (I Love You)" from her Superhero CD!

So who else played at the Heritage Festival that'll be included on today's show? How about Kenny Neal, The Nighthawks, Zac Harmon, JP Soars, Damon Fowler, Victor Wainwright & the Wildroots, Charlie Musselwhite, Mac Arnold & Plate Full O' Blues, Smokin' Joe Kubek & Bnois King, Teeny Tucker, Candye Kane, and wrapping up with the great Buddy Guy song, "Skin Deep"!

So…. Are you ready to hear some "Bruce's Blues"? Well, I hope so! Crank it up my friends, we’re off and running!

Well, we started off the first full set with Kenny Neal! I was so glad to hear that he was on the lineup! The Nighthawks continued to blast non-stop blues out for their set! And the classy velvety-smooth voice of Zac Harmon (who intro's me on every one of my BluzNdaBlood shows!) cranks out a little Honey Bee!

Now in our second full set, Bruce originally had David "Honeyboy" Edwards scheduled to play but he quite touring after he was added to the lineup! So Bruce got a group that calls themselves "Southern Hospitality" and was none other than JP Soars, Damon Fowler, and Victor Wainwright! For the first time that they've played together, these guys blew the roof off! This set has a sample from each one of these guys! I can't wait until they put something out together!

Our next set is a really good one! For the first time in his career, Charlie Musselwhite wrote or co-wrote every song on his album, The Well! It was Grammy nominated, too! We'll listen to the great lyrics of the title track and learn how little Jessica McClure touched Charlie enough to get him out of his well! Listen in and this will make more sense! We'll hear some Mac Arnold next! He was a part of the Bob Margolin Vizztone Label Revue that was a super hit! We'll end the set with a great tune From Smokin Joe Kubek and Bnois King!

Our last set of music is a great way to wrap our show! .... This was the first time I've heard Teeny Tucker and what a well polished, professional, sharp looking band! And I've added another Candye Kane  tune to the show! This one is off of her newest CD Sister Vagabond! Well this show and the festival wrapped up with Buddy Guy!

Well, I hope you've enjoyed show #127, "Bruce's Blues!"...
