Hey there! Welcome back, everybody

This is your BluzNdaBlood DJ Dave Harrison coming at ya once again from the blues filled studio in the Star City of Virginia! Welcome to Show #131!

I've got a super show for you this time around! This show is highlighting some of the artists that I heard and interviewed in late May at the Delta Groove All Star Blues Revue held during the Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Festival! Plus we're celebrating the release of Big Pete's CD, Choice Cuts...

Well, we started off the show a great cover from Big Pete off his brand new Choice Cuts CD! This song is special because I was in the studio when this was recorded and filmed it too! So who else is on my blues roster that was playing at this year's Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Festival?

Well, how about Mikey Junior and Stone Cold Blues, Shawn Pittman, Arthur Adams, The Mannish Boys and more Big Pete! So…. Are you ready to hear some tunes from some of the performers and some short interviews from Simi Valley? Well, I hope so! Crank it up my friends, we’re off and running!

So…. Are you ready to hear a Simi Valley Flashback ? Well, I hope so! Crank it up my friends, we’re off and running!

Well, we started off the first set with the actual introduction from Bubba Jackson (LA Based DJ who emceed) and Randy Chortkoff, Delta Groove CEO who introduced Mikey Junior and Stone Cold Blues! This first tune "Had A Woman" is off of their CD called Look Inside My Pocket! We follow up that song with "The Cheapskate" ! Mikey Junior and the band was an incredible hit there in California!

Next up on the show is a two song set along with a quick interview that I had with Shawn Pittman, who had just released his Edge of the World CD on the Delta Groove label! The really cool deal here on this CD is that Shawn pretty much plays every single instrument on the CD other than a sax on a couple of the songs! Pretty impressive piece of work! This set of his includes "Scent of Your Benjamins" and "Sugar (Where'd You Get Your Sugar From)"

The next set is the great bluesman Arthur Adams! It was a treat to see and talk to him backstage! Let's listen in to his "Blue Roots" tune, and brief interview of him, and wrap up this set with the title track of his last CD, "Stomp the Floor".

Our last set of music is focusing on Big Pete, who was there at the festival to play a tribute to Lester Butler. Big Pete was a super guy and had a smile on his face the entire 2 day festival! Now I know why he did, because he was the surprise that Randy Chortkoff had for me inviting me to the studio after the festival! It was to record Big Pete! This set starts with "Just Your Fool", has a brief interview that I had with Big Pete, and ends with a tune "Way Down South" that Big Pete played on with The Mannish Boys on their "Shake For Me" CD.

Well, I hope you've enjoyed show #131, "Simi Valley Flashback"...  Thanks to Randy Chortkoff for his great support, his invitation to be backstage at the festival, and letting my sit and watch the magic happen in the studio!
