Show #93,
Women In Blues!

This is show #93, Women In Blues!

Well, hello there! It’s time for another BluzNdaBlood Show! Your first stop for the best of the blues! This is
bluesman
Dave Harrison coming at you from the Star City of Virginia… Well, it’s just about that time of year
when I pull together a Women In Blues show! It’s time to highlight those strong, sassy, brassy, sexy, and
take charge women that provide us with so much incredible blues music!

Well, I started off the show with Janiva Magness telling it like it is in the recording business with, “You Sound
Pretty Good”, off her newest
Alligator Records
CD called “What Love Will Do.”

So who else are we gonna hear from on today’s Women In Blues show other than Janiva? Well, how about
Deborah Coleman, Bending Like a Willow Tree;

Saffire-The Uppity Blues Women, Too Much Butt;

Koko Taylor, Hey Bartender;

Eden Brent, He’ll Do The Same Thing To You;

Roxy Perry, Roadmaster;

The King Bees, Where’d You Get To;

Lady Bianca, Lay It Down Like You Mean It;

Candye Kane, I Like ‘Em Stacked Like That;

Donna Greene and the Roadhouse Daddies, Baby Get Lost;

Karen Lovely, Blues Is My Business;

Cath Butler’s Joynt Venture, Determined Woman Shuffle;

Debbie Davies, Okie Dokie Stomp;

and ending up with the one and only Ruth Brown singing one of my favorites filled with double entendre’s,
If I Can’t Sell It, I’ll Keep Sittin’ On It!

Thanks to all the great women that have put their hearts and souls into blues music! One of the
toughest parts of my hobby,is pulling all the tunes together and then picking tunes for the show!
I always have way too many that I couldn’t fit in! SOOOooooo…. Be prepared for a “Women in Blues,
Part 2” in the near future!

Well, you know the routine! Now that you’ve heard this great music, go out and by the music!
Or go out and see them live! Then buy their music and tell them you heard their music on The
BluzNdaBlood Show!
